Reader,

One of the most common questions I get about maximizing CLV is this:

“What do I need to do during onboarding so that my clients buy again?”

My answer: Make your client feel seen, heard, and understood.

But that doesn’t mean you’re just sending them delivery emails.

Let’s take a closer look at how you can accomplish those 3 steps—and how they make your clients happy to spend 3x more with your coaching biz.

  1. Make them feel seen

The moment they type in their credit card information, they are going through a mini-transformation. Acknowledge that.
Your marketing has spoken to them. Acknowledge that.
They’ve taken a chance on you. Acknowledge that.

I’m not saying you need to send a million emails about each of these micro-shifts – a single one will do (bonus points if it includes a video) – but please FTLOG don’t just drop them into your offer without recognizing the belief they’ve shown in you.

And when you do drop them into your offer? Make sure the experience matches up with what you promised in your front-end marketing. Because a disjointed experience here can sink your chances of selling anything else down the road.

  2. Make them feel heard

This happens when you actively solicit your new buyers’ input:
    What made them sign up?
What do they want to achieve?
If they were sitting on the fence, what made them jump in?

Not only will asking these questions and actually referring to their answers help you connect with them throughout your coaching relationship, you can use them to segment your audience and personalize your pitches as they move further into your world.

  3. Make them feel understood

Your new buyer didn’t sign up for your program because she was looking for a way to fill her time. Her purchase is connected to her bigger vision for her life.

Show her you understand what she’s working towards, that she wasn’t wrong in thinking you can help get her there.

And if there is another space, program or offer in which you can accelerate her progress to that desired state? Let her know!

Some buyers will hear that and put it on their vision board, others will hear it and want to immediately pay in full.

“Onboarding” – or as I call it, the Activation Phase – is a powerful time in your relationship with your new buyer, where you’ll either impress them and keep their attention, or not.

If you don’t, it’s your offer alone that’s going to have to do all the work I described above.

That’s possible. But it’s not how you 3x your CLV without adding more work to your plate.

The Activation Phase is just one of the 3 key phases in your customer experience, where you have the opportunity to gather Strategic Client Intelligence, create Ascension Pathways, and to benefit from Organic Growth Triggers.

I walk you through all 3 of them, as well as what success looks like in each one, in my signature, on-demand workshop, Profit without Pressure. [Watch it right now]

Using my Golden Opportunity Gap Finder framework, you’ll see:

  • Why your top-line revenue looks impressive but your take-home pay still feels disappointing—and the margin improvement strategy that fixes it without adding a single new client

  • The hidden ROI killer: How paying for front-end ads without this backend system means you're working twice as hard for half the profit you should be making

  • Your untapped source of easy-to-close dream clients who are profitable faster than the people who find you organically on Instagram

  • The real reason your continuity offer isn't converting (hint: it has nothing to do with your offer quality, pricing, or how much value you deliver)

  • How this system generates more revenue with less effort than any other project on your list—and why waiting costs you an entire cohort's lifetime value every month

If your launches are down, your ROAS is dropping or you're about to burn out—this is the ONLY strategy that can increase your profit margins without requiring more ads, more content or more hours in front of your screen.
